I have it but the multiplayer in Civ3 is so bad that it is not worth the time invested.

What's wrong with it? (I ask out of interest - never tied it - but want to)

There is a pause after every thing you do. It takes around a second for the game to respond again. Very annoying. It causes the game to become unplayable once you have even a handful of units.
This is what happens when you try and add in multiplayer after the full game has been made. I hope that civ4 (which they are working on now BTW) will have multiplayer support in it from the get go. I also want a new unit system. The game has grown to big for the current system and the combat is bad enough to start crying.

Problem is the time it takes for the Humans to more and make theire turn.. becomes a little slower when you have 300 units

In the single player game that is correct. In multiplayer the problem is not just that. The problem exists from the very first turn. They need to find a whole new way to play the game in Civ4.

anyway 1. why don't you guys try alpha centauri? 2. how about space empires? the game is designed in such a way (appart form normal network play) that it saves a file you then send to other player and he plays his turn and so on. the ships and technology in it (well at least in SE 3) is very much like in star trek. |
