This game was made for Dos, so it's likely that you'll need DosBox to run it under Xp.

Rome: Pathway to Power (a.k.a. Rome: A.D. 92) (1993)
Published by Millennium Interactive (Not ESA member) & Maxis (ESA member, 10 years of protection)
Developed by Firstlight (Dead company)

There are only used copies at Amazon.

Our Oldwarez list says it was published & Developed by Electronic Arts and I think it's wrong.
Mobygames, Wikipedia and other Abandonware sites confirmed what I have just written above.

I would say approved.

You meant "what the *meep* is the language the whole topic is written in"

Please Joel, try to write a little better...it's hard for us to understand what you are asking for.
Thanks

Default Rome AD 92 (aka Rome: Pathway to Power)

Hey everyone

I remember... when i be a child many years ago, playing this adventure semi strategy.. mostly adventure game.
It was based in roman time.

You started out as a slave on some island/city? doing a errand.
Soon as you start or a minute after? a volcano on this island/city starts erupting
(pompeij maybe? ), and you race to the shore and grab a boat to rome.

After this, your free start buying your own slaves, going to the "collsieum" to fight and bet. Then eventually assasinate the caeser or city emperor? i remember being a "captain" of sorts, and being sent out to defend against barbarians(hence the tactical part).
And it's not any of the caeser/centurion games i've found here.

It's probably very old, 8bit type graphics with traditional graphicly drawn "cutscenes".

I know it's a longshot, butt hope someone can throw some titles and screenshots

I have no timeframe but it has to be... from 92 93? and earlier.
perhaps 90. Not sure.

hope for the best

Cheers,

Default Rome: Pathway to Power (aka Rome AD 92) [Review Needed]

I wanted to upload this game on Thursday, but I've noticed that the review is really short... What do we do about it?
Quote:
You're a Roman slave. Well actually, your character is. You've never seen anything more than the provincial town you're in. You feel prisoned, so logically, you will try to escape. That's your first mission, but it's a long way to Rome and in this game, you will see not all paths lead to Rome actually. Escape from that little town before the lava kills you and you will be saved... In the first mission, that is.

But actually, there's so much to say about this game, that I can only recommend playing it. Its graphics are very good for its time and the gameplay is pretty okay too. You have a lot of freedom to do whatever you like, but you are bound to some storyline restrictions, which makes this game fun and not too hard to play.
review written by Spartician, there was also only one screenshot, so I've made some more from the beginning of the game
