Every time I try to run the game "Chip's Challenge", I get the message "This program requires Microsoft Windows". I have Microsoft Windows, so what is the problem?

PS - I dunno if this is a really stupid question or not, I just started playing these games literally three days ago. ;D

first question , Which version of windows do you have ( windows 98, Window XP, Windows Vista)

also I have just tried it myselft running straight from windows XP and it ran fine so you might have a corrupt copy of the program so I would try downloading it again.

also might sound like a silly question but are you trying to run it from dosbox? this game is a windows game so does not need dosbox.

and if you are using XP it might be worth to try running the game in compatibility mode: right click the executable file, select properties, compatibility, run the program in compatibility mode (try win 95 first as it seems to work for most of the old games)

edit:
just checked the game, it says it is doxbox but the screens suggest windows...
strange
