It will fry your RAM chip making it useless, and if you're not careful you could complete destroy your motherboard.
I advise reading up on static electricity and what you can do to prevent it, I know you can buy wrist bands and stuff that dramatically reduce the chance of messing your motherboard up. Look around at different PC mod sites before you just rip everything open.
