![]() PHP is a widely used, general purpose scripting language that is specially suited for wen development and can be embedded into HTML.
PHP version 5.0.3 was just released on November 30, 2004. YABB SE is simply free forum software called Yet Another Bulletin Board in its second edition form. This software provides a real-time chat and support system for your visitors and is highly reputable. |

I never installed YABB, so I don't know how it works, but I did couple of phpBB installation, and that's really easy to use BB. It's also integrated in Nuke as module. |

![]() To be honest, I prefer YabbSE. It's fast and it's light on the bandwidth.

![]() Personally I like SMF better. It's used on the AGS boards, and I much prefer it to all the Invision/phpBB etc forums around. The main feature I like is the little icon that shows if there are posts in the thread that you havn't read. And this does this for all threads, unlike every other board I have seen.

![]() Isn't this the same as if (on this forum) icons are highlited if there are new replies?
BTW my homepage is http://www.abandonia.com/forum/index.php?a...&CODE=getactive I have just visited AGS. If this is the forum you are talking about, this is YabbSE forum! http://www.bigbluecup.com/yabb/ |

![]() Well the difference with the icons on this forum is that they are only there for like the new posts at the top of the page, At AGS, the little icon stays even if you choose not to check the page out at that time. So in other words I can go back 10 pages, and some topics will still have the 'new' icon. I really like that feature.
Oh and if I'm not mistaken, the forum used to be YabbSE, bvut it was changed about a year or so, but the link was kept the same. Also I have a feeling that SMF is based on YabbSE, tho I could be wrong. |
