Thanks for reporting this. I have filed an abuse report with ebay. These guys ruin the good name of abandonware.

Not very surprisingly, though... There're always people who will try to make profit of something that's free otherwise...

Well... the guy did put a disclaimer:
Quote:

THIS IS NOT A SIERRA PRODUCT! - THESE GAMES ARE ABANDONWARE AND ARE FREELY PUBLISHED AND OBTAINABLE ON THE INTERNET. YOU ARE PAYING SOLELY FOR MY DOWNLOAD / RESEARCH TIME, PACKAGING, INSTRUCTIONS AND CD.
So I'm not so sure it's abuse, or immoral. Plus people pay for things they can get for free all the time.

Actually I'm kind of jealous that I didn't think of it first!

The whole idea behind abandonware is that people should not pay for these games because they are too old to be saleable. This guy did not put a second of efford in the making of these games so he has no right to make money out of other peoples effords.

Well the guy isn't really doing anything illegal. For instance, I found a loophole in the Gmail system where I could give myself invites and I would sell Gmail invites over ebay.

Actually what he is doing IS illegal. What we are doing is illegal. The only difference is that we are not getting payed for it.

Well about the legality you're right, but still, what about the fact that I can go and buy a CD with linux on it, when linux is open source and it is illegal to sell it, I'm still paying for the CD and maybe manual that are supplied. Also most computer magazines have a cd that comes with them when you purchase them. The included cd always makes the magazine more expensive, but all they contain is demos/patches/etc... that can be downloaded freely from the net.

This is definitely an interesting discussion. :P

Actually just thought about something: If Kosta is making money by advertising off this site, is that also wrong?
