I'm with you 110%, Steam stinks worse than skunk farts!
I wanted to try the demo version of Portal, can't do it w/o Steam and thus an internet connection. Problem is my gaming rig doesn't have one for speed and security reasons, and all my attempts at cracking the download have failed.
If they're trying to discourage potential customers, they've got the right idea!
