I used to play a game, many years ago, it was one you could play on windows in windowed mode. Basically on the screen was a map of space (black with pixel stars), and planets. Your job was to go around colonising planets with people, mining them for resources, attacking rival space ships or planets, buying weapons and missles etc. Plus you could play this over a modem. I do have a vague memory of the evil rival ship having a evil smiley face on it's ship. If anyone remembers a game like this please let me know ^^
