There is a special ingame mechanic to get the piece from the unicorn. After your first meeting with it a timer starts, counting your ingame not-active hours. So your group must have a total amount of ca. 5 hours of doing nothing
You can do other stuff of course but every time your group has nothing to do and is not moved this amount will be charged. (Sry my english is not so good this morning). When you think it's enough go back to the lake and travel around it without camping. Then the unicorn should appear.
If not, travel around the lake past the black eye, camp then and break up the camp immediately and travel the lake back in the other direction.

That is correct so far but at least you need 7 pieces of the map.
