Heh. The thing about KoDP is that by using a hybrid turn-based RPG/strategy system, its developers were able to create a remarkably in-depth game of leading a Runescape tribe. The closest thing to it that I've seen elsewhere are the old PC-based KOEI products such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Nobunaga's Ambition, Balor of the Evil Eye, etc. (I know some of these are still being developed on other platforms, but I'm not.) Where KOEI games focused on highest level management of land, combat and diplomacy, though, KoDP forces you to deal with a variety of day-to-day issues on the ground. The idea of throwing in more than 500 revolving plots (with 4-6 decisions you have to make, a piece) was a great idea, since it made the game feel more real, less abstract.
Do check it out on A-Sharp's homepage, if you can.
