well, I created downloaded the SB.rar on the thread I linked on the initial post and created an sb/sb16 folder
that gives me music
after that, I googled CT-voice.DRV and created a sub folder sb/sb16/drv
whenever I start dos box I type in set sound=C:\sb\sb16
which again gives me the music (If I don't these steps I don't even get that)
but alas, no sound effects
