Here is a tutorial for those who want a step by step tut for running MAX with Sound, IPX NETWORK and without DOS/4WG crash...

Step1)
Download MAX archive and unrar in a folder
For exemple : f:\dosprog\max

Step2)
Download my archive at http://www.temislog.com/@ext/maxtut/...cedVersion.zip
and unzip it in the same folder
ex : f:\dosprog\max

Step3)
Edit the dosbox.conf file and add in the autoexec section like in the screenshot

You can delete keyb fr if you want the qwerty keyboard, I'm french so I have changed it.

Step4)
Edit the IPX section to enable IPX ver UDP

Step5)
Run Dosbox, you will see :

Step6)
write : MAXMENU

Step7)
My MAX MENU appears, in Coded in Old Dos design style

Step8)
If you want to HOST a game, select "Start IPX Server"

Step9)
If you want to join game , select "Connect to an IPX Server"
You will be asked to enter IP address of server

Enter IP and press "Enter"

Step10)
Select "Configure MAX Sound" if you need to configure sound card
And follow screenshots

Step11)
Select "Start Max using original dos4wg" if you want to load max.
But if you encounter problems with DOS/4WG error when playing select "Start MAX using Freedos"
it will run the game without dos4wg but using a free version dos32a.exe
