You may have twenty CD drives, once you're in dosbox it doesn't matter.

Did you mount the CD or image as
D: in dosbox?
Did you use a virtual CD drive? (Daemon, cloneCD whatever?) or did you mount directly in dosbox?
Did you
INSTALL the game from D: on C: in dosbox?
Did you also mount the CD when you play the game?
Is the CD a mixed mode CD?
