marko river, the German version, in difference from the English one, has been re-published a couple of times in budget editions, with the manual supplied in PDF. So I have found the documentation on the disk image - and that was found on some German torrents.
As for the hints, they have even been included into patch 1.04, as well as to those re-editions.
