You mentioned it would be hell trying to run Zool 2 on a modern computer. I however had no problems; when I ran it with VDMS, the game crashed right away to a divide overflow, but it ran just fine in DosBox!
The game was a little bit too fast for starters, but as I switched on the sound it became just OK.
