if you were in ideal world, where are no "dirts or something" and you play game there, it wouldn't be damaged
Sorry to bother you russ, but if it get damaged because of some dirt or anything else while your computer is reading it (read: when you are playing) then cd's can be damaged only by playing.

It's only a matter of perception about saying the same thing.

I know there is a way to repair scratched cd's. Seach a little in computer stores and ask there, you should be able to find something which "rebuild" your cd if it's only slighly scratched. It may be some kind of wax or something which fill the tiny gaps the scratches make, I'm not sure... But I'm sure some stuff exist for that.
