So I recently bought Jets'n'Guns from
http://jng.rakeingrass.com/, after getting addicted to side-scroller shooters again from playing "lost vikings" (which is a sidekick in Starcraft 2)
It came to my mind, JNG is just like real life. You start with nothing (baby) and from all the new people, some will grab the shiny guns first (the exploiters) while some will go for the bounty hunter licence which costs 100k$, which rewards you an extra 5k$ for every pirate you eliminate. (the academics)
As expected, the first group will have instant success (because of having the better guns) but the other group who grows slowly but steady, will at some point be rewarded for their expensive investements and catch up.
So far so good.
But then, on level 25 of 50, a pirate ship suddenly catches everyone!!!! You and everyone else are thrown into prision, and the captain of the pirates shouts, that instead of killing you outright, the prisioners must "walk the line" (as he calls it)
You are thrown into a barbaric space race against time, where you must conquer an arena full of mines and pass all challenges thrown at you, in a certain ammount of time, and only if you succeed you are released back into freedom!
And here comes the problem: Don't you bet on your previous achievements! You have to do this race in a fucking outdated, slow, damaged ship he gives you! Why do I always loose in this fucking race ????????
OMG I feel so bad right now, for having invested so much time into developing my spaceship. It's all for nothing's worth as I can't beat this race with my strategy, in this stupid, crappy ship!! But I can't get back to my super developed ship, before I beat this race.
Ok, somebody needs to give me a hug right now...
