Default early 90' (late 80's?) PC RPG/adventure game - desert/postapocalyptic setting

Hi All,

looking for this game which was way too hard for me when I was playing it being less then 10 years old.

The game was played around 1990-1994 meaning that it could have been developed earlier.

It seems to me like 256 colors VGA game played on 286AT.

The view was from above e.g. like in first SimCity. One operated a player that could move around the screen, the screen itself could be scrolled in all directions (very much like SimCity 1). I vaguely recall fighting creatures and gathering loot (?) possibly turn based but cannot be certain. Also vaguely recall that one of the enemies (or just creatures in the field) was a greenish lizard (?)

The game definitely had this desert-like feel and had a really decent graphics (comparable to e.g. Budokan) with the ground not looking yellowish but really 'sandy'.

It's not Wasteland (or Fountain of Dreams). The description seems to fit, I know. My game had way better graphics (at least I recall it like that ). And it's not Dune.

Any ideas perhaps? Thanks in advance.

Played dozens of games in the 1990's and this is probably the only one I cannot really identify...
