3rd person game, with circles for "pixels"
I remember reading an article about this game. I think there was a sequel.
An adventure game, maybe RPG.
3rd person camera.
It was 90's, I believe.
Your guy had a sword.
But the really neat, crazy, thing was that it was "3-D" (I think 2-D CG backgrounds) by having "bubbles" or "circles" used to draw the characters. And the circles were 3-D, so they'd get smaller if the character was further away or moved his hand away. So basically, they built a skeleton animation system but instead of polygons, they used 2-D circles.
I think you fight "the devil" or a big demon at some point and if you lose you're tortured by it.
Come to think of it, I think there was a "weird" rare SNES game that did that for a fighting game that had random women moaning sounds. But I can't think of that game either!
