just line up the crosshairs and fire when they go orangey triangley! also make sure you're trying to shoot the bad guy
yeah the combat seems rather 'hands off' there are games with much better combat in space.. but in terms of scanning and navigating and trading its seems a lot of fun.. like you would imagine a real spaceship to be. a real spaceship would just have a computer do all the combat, so i guess they stopped short of that at least
