Yeah, I noticed such a version floating around the net; but this version also is 'crippled' because it was..erm..fixed for windows machines. That is to say, SVGA Cards in windows 95 or 98.
It basically has disabled some CGA-specific graphics code, which allowed people to play the game on "modern" back in the days before we had dependable dos emulation. That is obviously not needed now; and while the 99 lives thing is probably nice lol, it's just a little bit cheating
