yes it seems to have a few problems even if it's a great game. for example i can't get it run and i have radeon 9200 and celeron 1400. it appears that it's because i have directX 9 installed.
anyway
1. why don't you guys try alpha centauri?
2. how about space empires? the game is designed in such a way (appart form normal network play) that it saves a file you then send to other player and he plays his turn and so on. the ships and technology in it (well at least in SE 3) is very much like in star trek.
