Sorry about that. Unfortunately I can't do anything to fix how the website works or doesn't...
I think one's supposed to change the password from the website, go to "my account" then "edit". For me it worked, which surprised me actually... The website takes care of the forum account, but it's just hacked in this way, rather than properly integrated or left separate.
