Just thought I'd vent here. Withtout being too specific, I have been looking for certian (non-ESA protected) abandonware games. Games like Rocky's Boots and the Super Solver's series (I know they are selling windows Super Solvers but I'm looking for ones that aren't in that new series). In my search for them I eventually turned to Google and found two abandonware sites have them.

But here's the catch. One of the sites requires you pay to download. (And this site comes up on Google alot of the time.) The other requires you register on various other sites and give them personal information before they'll let you download.

This sucks! Now I can see paying IF we're talking about high bandwidth old games. CD-rips and the like. But the little ones should be free. And this selling my soul to their corporate machine for downloads... well I did it but obvously I'm not happy about it.

So I'm going to review these games and get them up on abandonia for everyone so no-one has to do that ever again.

(By the way, I've still got 2 games and a bizillion bits granted me to download on the sell-your-soul site. If you happen to find that site and see a game there that you don't want to register for but can't find anywhere else, let me know and I'll get it for you.)
