In my opinion one of the greatest reasons for all this trouble is that Religious Educatino is banned in the US (A silly extrapolation from the "separation of church and state" clause in the constitution).
If RE were allowed then creationism could be taught where it belongs and children would learn about other religions and not regard them with extreme xenophobia, as many people see Islam within the US, and around the world.
