I know it's been our policy, and maybe in the good old website it was necessary (though it would've been easy to fix). I believe the current website resizes them for display without resampling the file. I should try to be sure...

EDIT: It's as I thought... good and bad. First the website forces the display to 320x200, which means that you can/should just upload the original screenshots, and the layout will be OK. People could then also open them separately on the browser to see them in full resolution.

The bad thing is that the aspect ratio is incorrect, display is forced into 320x200... So these screenshots are being squeezed in height. Old monitors were always 4:3 sized, so for 320 pixels wide should be 240 high (320:240 = 4:3). This is different from the native resolution because these old CRTs had non square pixels when displaying 320x200 or 640x400 (but square pixels for 640x480).

This is bad but no worse than what happens if you open the image outside the website (square pixels will be assumed), for 320x200 and 640x400. You see these images not as intended, but you may be used to it. This is what the DOSBox option [render]aspect is about. But for 640x480 images (or dowsampled to 320x240) the website also squeezes them down to 320x200 instead of 240.
