That is true. When I compare this to SotC, I usually think about plotline and overall Cthulhu Mythos immersion, which makes SotC the best of the two.
However, I still remember how atrocious the control scheme was in SotC and how some of the puzzles (ie, developing photographic plates or using the figurines against the cultist) were almost impossible without bruteforcing or using a walkthrough (especially when items have two different names ingame...).
