1. I used to have error messages like that with some games. Change the soundcard emulation to, say, Sbpro2.
2. Check how much RAM DosBox is emulating. See if changing that amount (both increasing and decreasing) has any result.
3. Try playing with the EMS/XMS settings. Both enabled, both disabled, EMS disabled, XMS disabled.
