Well, even with the password you cannot rename directories. Windows FTP client sucks big time here.
But, you CAN create directories with a specific name. Just go and get Total Commander. Just about any version will do, and it's both powerful file manager (REALLY powerful and easy to use), and has a built-in FTP client to boot.

aiat, FTP is basically a file transfer protocol through the net... used to upload and download files to/from FTP servers. FTP is a different thing from HTTP (which you use just now to view this forum). You don't really to need more. Do you need to know what is a construction of a microwave oven (or electric kitchen or whatever)? No, and yet you use it everyday to warm your meals. Same here - no need to know how FTP functions, just that it is.
