If my memory serves me well, there were 2 exits from Shangri-la:
One down (I think this is to Dark Side and it is open when the relevant conditions are fulfilied. Never used.)
One up - Here the player will meet terrible monsters. The end of this battle track is some location in Lava section.
I used above mentioned road and LLoyd Beacon also.

I still do not understand how to reach the key/device/ in Pyramids to start the Fountain of Youth!!
I passed Alpha, Beta, Main control engines and partially Aft.
But see no one crystal which will send me further..
Thanks to Orbs and Artifacts i reach 30-32 levels, which is very nice.
For the first time i feel i can win..
Even i killed one Vulture Roc! Yes, i did.
1 Start Burst and 2 Implosion und Roc kaput.
