I am attempting to prove that I am not a science fiction writer by failing to complete a novel that combines to different science fiction universes. After nearly five years, I have a plot outline and two chapters (tentatively 1 and 6). I also have a short story set in the Honorverse novels that still needs polishing. I also have a friend that on greatly infrequent intervals cajoles me into producing some more, so I may actually finish it in another decade, possibly sooner.

For me, the really easy bit about writing SF is keeping the fictional science internally consistent and describing how it builds into interesting technologies. Interesting people is more of a problem. My stuff tends to be in the style of Jules Verne-- technoromps. If I thought it was any good, there would be more of it and it would be on the fanfic sites. If my friend convinces me that it is any good, I may produce more, anyways.
