There's the video game versions of Axis & Allies. I use that in my class. The kids play the "real" version in class, but I let them try out moves using the computer version.

As far as FPS go, it's a pretty good game. My system isn't beefy enough for Modern Warfare 2, so I can't compare it to the newer ones. I think it's one I'll keep playing as long as there are...

Anyone remember a RTS Civil War game from early 1990s called "The Blue and the Gray"? It had both strategic and miniature battle elements, and I think it even let you personalize units.
