I remember seeing them, yet either people aren't talking seriously anymore, or haven't in so long all those topics have sunk...

I can't believe tehre's nothing importaint happening in the world, that people cold talk about...

To start off with:
How do you coment the outcome of the Italian presidential elections?

Eagle of Fire 14-04-2006 03:16 AM

I don't care? :bleh:

No, seriously I care about it about just a little less as much as the elections in my own country. Which mean I don't car... Erm... Whatever. LOL

I have to say i agree with EOF, I honestly couldn't care less about the italian elections. I dont even know who the current president is. Dont bother telling me anyone, because chances are i wont even read it, or ill have forgotten by tomorrow.

Ehm they were parliamentary elections. Current president is Chiampi, but elections were (basically) between current PM (Berlusconi) and Prodi. Prodi won, but Berlusconi can't handle it so he demands a recount. The problem was that Berlusconi hjimself pushed in the new election law under which the person who get's the most voices also get the majority in parliament. The funny thing is (and it's nothing unusual for Italy) that Prodi got only a few thousand voices more than Berlusconi. So they are not even as they would be under old law, but instead Prodi will get a majority.

That's ok. Many people in other larger countries have enough domestic topics to talk about so they are not really interested into the foreign affairs.

I don't know what Prodi stands for, but at least Berlusconi's off. A Prime Minister that gets caught running 'round naked and has pics of that spread 'round just isn't fit for being a PM. Plus, he's got small sheep :D

his comments that he was jesus were absurd.

I don't know what kind of a man Prodi is, but it's definitely good that don Berlusconi didn't win.

Quintopotere 14-04-2006 07:50 AM

So, does someone out there (Italy, of course) care for our prime minister election?

I went to vote but I don't care too much... I'm sure enough that they're quite the same...
Probably you all know what kind of man is Berlusconi (he used to make his affairs while he was our PM...), but even Prodi gain a huge amount of money and power with the statal tasks he made in the past...

The real problem is that the Prodi coalition has so few votes more than the berlusconis one, that he will have some difficulties in governing... in the senate he has just a couple more of senators: it means that if those two are ill during a votation, they couldn't be able to approve a law... <_<

voting is always choosing the best out of the worst. well know people have flaws only some have bigger ones then others. some are more corrupt then others, some would do more damage to use and other citizens than others. so the trick is to choose the one that will be better. offocurse each person decides that on his own.

Well, I still remember Romano from the times he was the "EU president" and I'd say he's much better qualified then Silvio (who's been really pushing to monopolize the entire Italian political scene).
