I hear 'bout it 'bout once every year and a half, apparently. It's a bit weird. At one side, I find it fascinating and intriguing, on the other side, I find it decadent and perverse. Really odd project, Burning Man.

Yeah ! Ever since i've first heard of it i've wanted to go there. But i'll wait till i'm ready for a major change, since i'm convinced i'll never be the same again afterwards. :omg:

go to the desert... to bake up... and then u have a transcendent experiance... its called sunstroke..... normally people are treated for it....
sounds like its for crazy hippys who have done all the festivals and failed to be killed by the drugs so many times that they have become immune , so they gotta turn up tha heat. a lot.

There's an enormous "man" built out of wood that forms the centerpiece of the festival which is burned on the last night. Hence "burning man." If you look around hard enough you might be able to find pictures of it.

I, like many others, take issue with the administration of the entire thing. The festival is run by a corporation which strongly restricts things such as photo-taking and branding at the event, an event which is supposed to be the antithesis of "the establishment." Another major contradiction is in that while there is supposed to be no business conducted (i.e. you bring what you need and barter for what you want; there should be no money involved in the festival whatsoever) and vendors are prevented entry, the organizing company operates an official concession.
