Nice idea but the execution is poor. Since it was made in 1988 I guess they could not have done more. We really need a good film maker simulator.

Try "The Movies" by Lionhead Studios. A game by Peter Molyneux, no less. (Not abandonware)

I recall the box/advert artwork for this game were superb! Have we ever had a Laurel and Hardy computer game??? I think not...imagine!

In fact there was (at least for C64). There were Stan and Olie and they were running around mazes and stuff...
There was also The Three Stooges computer game.

The one I'm really missing is Marx brothers (they were by far the funniest).

Yuck!
Maybe I can play it on my old cell phone ?

There is a Marx brothers IF-game called Four in One. The Underdogs have it, I think.

Nah, they weren't really funny (just a few giggles). They'd fall in the same chategory as the Stooges (but there was a game about the Stooges).

Maybe a Buster Keaton game?
*Hint for you freeware home-made game makers*
