Escape Velocity Nova [SOLD]
Escape Velocity-A rpg of sorts in space. You get a starter ship and have to haul cargo to places or taxi around people, or whatever the mission asks you to do to earn more credits to buy bigger and faster ships to the extent of having a carrier which can launch fighers when you get attacked by pirates (or if you are a pirate, attacked by the police). The game even had an interstellar trade system, where certain supplies would be surplus or in demand on diff planets. Last time I played it was like 6 years ago or so on an old mac performa.
(forget name)-Was a sort of crime rts. Theres this city which is like a DnD game board. Some squares have industrial lots or casinos or whatever. You conquer each square and gain protection money from them. Capture a research lab and you can research new weapons for your forces. You hire certain mercenaries and use them to take over areas. It had a weapons research system sort of like X-Com. Last time I played this was on the same mac. Not sure of the name, might have been called "Crime Lord" or something like that. I got both games from a mac magazine which sent demo cds to me. If you can't find them, I could probably mail you the cd. |
Update!
Escape Velocity was published by Ambrosia Software(There is a new version out called "Escape Velocity: Nova", I'm looking for the original). No name on the other game. They were both on the "Gaming Megapack" which was from MacUser. The year on the disk is 1996, so they are both from that time period. |
First of all, as for Escape Velocity, I never stumbled into it.... I guess it was never published for PC. However, if you find a PC version, I will be more than happy to put it up with proper credentials :)
As for the other RPG... you probably might have noticed that there are NO RPG games on the site whatsover! I never played RPGs so I don't have any in my collection, and even if I do acquire some, I won't be able to review them properly. That is why I'm desperately trying to find an associate which would help me out with that genre! I've asked a couple of people for help regarding this but they all ran away  Still looking though.... |
ill review them for you, if you want. I play a few RPGs(not very well, but there you go) and Ill stay!

There is a RPG on the site. It's called Battletech. Okay it's not just a RPG and the RPG elements are not the most important of the game but still.
The problem with RPG on the computer, at least until a few years ago, was that you where better of playing them as they where ment to be played, on a table rather then on the computer. The graffics where always bad and the gameplay only slightly better. There are of course now people who are trying to find my home adres so they can brutally murder me for saying this but I stand by my words. Up until the late nineties RPG had no place on a computer. The Baldurs Gate came out and showed us how it was done. Gorgious graphics and even better gameplay. Hour upon hour I slaved away behind my computer wandering around the sword coast finding my lost heratige. The sequal was even better. Those two combined with a few others are sadly rare exceptions. RPG are difficult to pull of on a computer and I would not know of a single one for the DOS era worthy to put on any abandonware site. |
I disagree ;)
I still love what was done with Ultima 6 and 7. They were brilliant in their day and actually pretty much started what is considered RPG these days. Although other than those I don't remember any other RPG worth much. Lord British all the way! :? |
I'm back with another list of game requests :D
Okay i did a little search on other abandonware sites and a couple of games remained in my head: Reunion Settlers I Street Fighter 2(the first one sucks) The first two are classics and a lot of people would like to see them on the site. The would make a great update  |
Since today is a sunday, and I have nothing to do. (The weather is lousy 20 degrees warm  ). I will try to find a pc-version of the game Escape Velocity.
|
The game Escape Velocit was only made for the Mac and for something called Pocket PC.
I have downloaded over 30 (not kidding, here) different files of this game... and none of them plays on the PC. Escape Velocity: NOVA is made for the PC, but it is still active. Sorry, people :( |
Escape Velocity is still active too....U can buy it on the developers site...
