hi- i saw this forum on google and thought u guys could help -

i wanted to know if there was a way i could play x-com enemy unknown on my imac?? i kinda understand emulators but not properly and assume i need to download one so i can play the game but also is there a place i could download both

the emulator to play it
and the game itself (the topic shown on google i believe people were talking about a site where they had downloaded the game)

we have the DOS version here, and DOSBox seems to be available for OSX here.

like i said really bad knowledge - im assuming i download mac osx - do i need the tools fronted by mac osx - see im confused if i need a mac emulator to play what i thinks a pc game or do i need a pc emulator to play a pc game on my mac (takes breath LOL)

thanks btw for your help - realize this must be VERY boring

your iMac uses OSX as its operating system, so you need the OSX version of DOSBox to emulate a x86 PC with DOS, and the DOS version of the game to play.

follow the instructions in the dosbox guide, and check the dosbox newbie's guide in the troubleshooting forum.
