I am not sure where to post my question, so please do not be annoyed if this is the wrong board.

I would like to use some of the games screenshots on my poor website just to show of what I am talking about when I write something about old games.
Will that be a prob?
I already have a link to abandonia on my site *g* :kosta:

I'm sure it isn't too hard to take some of your own?

piepsi 01-03-2005 11:51 AM

Just a time question. They would look exactly the same if I took them by myself :D

from a -legal- point of view, the screenshots copyright already belongs to the game makers because it contains their artwork.. so noone can stop you.
i dont think they can say 'no you cant'
it is a bit lazy - people dont want to see sites that just ripped things from other sites. its boring.

piepsi 01-03-2005 12:00 PM

Yes it it lazy - but not ripped. I just don't have the time  to play all those games again. But it seems I have to for having a cool site.

Thank you for your quick answers!

Why don't you PM Kosta about this? He's the one in charge after all...

piepsi 01-03-2005 12:16 PM

Sorry, I don't know Kosta, since I am a Newbie Spammer *blush*
I will do so next time.

Long time, no see.
I wanted to take some screenshots of my favourite games such as Monkey Island. But it didn't work! I pressed ALT+PRINT as usual, but when I tried to open them in PhotoShop, nothing happened. I couldn't paste anything 'cause there was nothing to paste.
How did you do them?

*wants*

A quick suggestion:
Use the DOSBox programe (it's a great dos emulator that makes the games run even on WinXP) - and when you play a game just press ctrl+F5 (you'll get a screenshot of the game - and you can make an unlimited number, they will all be in the default folder).
