Maabus [SOLD]

Hello there!
I'm looking for a pretty obscure game, which I played sometime in the second half of the 90's. I recall it was on several cd's (three at least, as far as I remember). It was basically an adventure game, where you had to drive around in some sort of machine, on a strange, tropical (maybe prehistoric) island, sometimes bumping into strange creatures.
The whole thing took place in first person perspective, where you olny had a tiny window to view the outside, and most of the screen was occupied by stats, meters, etc, like you were in some sort of a tank with a small window.
The game itself was sort of an fmv title, all you could see from the window consisted of prerendered videos, most of those were the transitions from
point A -> B (i guess that's why it took so much space). I'm not sure, but I think those videos were in quicktime format, but I'm almost entirely sure, that the game run under Win95.
One more thing: when I think of it, the colors purple and green come to my mind. This might be irrelevant, but maybe it helps.
Thanks, and merry christmas to all!

Congo is not really an island, but could it be Congo: Descent into Zinj ? Some of the screens look like what you describe.

No, sorry, that's definitely not it :(
The default screen was way smaller than that.
And I'm pretty sure you were never allowed to leave that conteraption you have been driving around with.
Anyway, thanks for the help!

Could it be one of the Journeyman Project titles?

There is something I recall reading a review of - did the game involve environment manipulation / regulation?

Ok, I think a better guess might be Critical Path. It takes place on a jungle island (unfortunately though the vegetation is not shown much), has a small screen, purple in the main menu and green in the contraption.

Amerzone had a 3 CD version, and it did involve exploration from inside a vehicle. Wasn't constant though: http://www.mobygames.com/game/amerzo...plorers-legacy

Thank you!
Well, that's still not it, but based on the category and the time period on the mobygames page, I managed to track it down!
It was called Maabus (seriously, no wonder why I didn't remember this name):

I forgot just how bad it looked:)
Big thanks again!
