DOOM 3 BFG Edition

Anyone pick this up today, besides me?

The PS3 version, to me, is literally a wish come true. I had been waiting years for the DOOM games to come to PS3. It seemed so unfair that XBOX gamers were able to enjoy DOOM while us PS3 geeks were stuck with Wolfenstein 3D (not to say it's a bad game, I love it).

Also, I believe there may be a digital download version on the PSN pretty soon. If so, I'm gonna buy that as well so I can keep the game on my PS3 hard drive.

Although I do plan on getting it someday, the PC version is not a priority to me primarily because of all the copies of DOOM, DOOM II, and DOOM 3 I already have for that system. But hey, I always could use more copies of DOOM :P

Yeah, I got it on launch day for PS3 too... but what do you mean pretty soon? It was in the first batch of games you could preorder through the Day 1 Digital thing in the PS Store, which was announced on the last week of September. PS+ members even got a 10% discount.

Also, I tried online co-op in Doom, and it was laggy as hell, hopefully it isn't a persistent issue

Now I know there IS a digital download version, which I'm gonna try and grab before my long-lost local buddy comes back to town. He REALLY wants the game on his PS3's hard drive.

I haven't been able to play online anything yet because no one joins my games, but hopefully that will change soon...

Well if you don't mind playing with a guy on the other side of the US, my PSN username is exactly the same as my username here

Sure! I'll send you a friend request and an invite next time I'm on...

Co-op is fun, but telefrags are rampant

Also that damned Industrial Zone... we spent far too long there.

A definite agree, on both factors.

I actually spent the last half of that place trying to get to the secret level. Industrial Zone IS where you access the Wolfenstein levels...

Or... the rampantly censored levels with no visual cues for any secrets.

I tried to get the Red Key... turned out after going through the teleporter in that room, you needed to go through the one right behind where you land.

I already knew about that. I know it pissed off a ton of hardcore DOOM purists, but I'm OK with it as long as they can keep giving it out to us.

When I say that though, I don't want EXTREME changes made.

I saw you do that, I'll make a note of it when I do my 1P runthrough...

So the Doom Classic collection came out on PSN today, it has the Master Levels and Final Doom included, but there's no word on whether they will bring these to the BFG Edition or something.
