although this is art forum is very beautiful and diverse i'm missing a certain aspect
of art: photography!

i'm not a regular photographer but i love to take pictures of the world that surrounds
me, when i carry my digital camera with me, now and then.

if there are more people who like to share their images with other abandonia users,
they are deeply invited to do it in this thread (or feel free to open an own thread if
you like to...)

i'd like to start with a picture which i took last summer while spending an afternoon with
my friends out in nature.

How do you do that? I can't take photos that look artistic, I've tried.

Strobe 04-02-2005 01:20 AM

i was just lucky to have my camera by, in the right moment.
believe me, i didn't want the shot to look "artistic". i simply felt amazed by
the situation! it's sort of a flow, when you see something you feel attracted to.
if you have the opportunity to use a camera to ban this moment, you just push
the trigger... and sometimes the result is quite surprising. it's really no big deal...

don't say you can't do this. it's only a matter of patience and chance ;)

I've studies photography for years. I own a few different cameras. They all seem to have their own personalities. I took this in the early morning....... just as the morning light started to transform the dark sky into dawn brilliance. I set exposer high to capture some of the trees in the background, and took focus on the light as much as possible to embody the morning spirit that I felt was present in this sunrise. Hope you enjoy.... maybe ill post another sometime.

I love the random nature of photography..... "Point. Shoot. Pray."..... a good motto for any aspiring photographer.

Wonderful!

Just what this forum needed!
Great idea, Strobe. And great photos! :ok:

thanks tom!

i hope that some people have the same opinion like you and feel motivated
to post some nice photos.

speaking of which... very moody shot, six apes! it's clearly visible that you
have great knowhow about photography. i like black/white pictures very
much although i myself tend to make coloured ones. nevertheless, your
photo is really impressive... a little to big to get a complete view but cool!

today i upload another picture of an animal. i took it during my last visit
in the local zoo. it shows a gorilla that appeared very "emotional" to me -
somehow depressed...

taikara 07-02-2005 03:39 PM

That's a very interesting picture, but I couldn't tell it was a gorilla =/

It seems very alien. The ropes in the foreground are a great effect. Good job! :ok:

I took this photo while walking in the mountains the Alps in Austria. The colors are modified with Corel Photopaint so the photo looks like it's from some nightmare.

taikara 07-02-2005 04:05 PM

*dies*

I never saw that place in Austria....

It's straight out of a faerytale...

Sigh.

Beautiful, Black angel! :ok:
