Social networks widgets
Most of you probably noticed the Facebook "facepile" that we've had on our front page for some days now. We've just added some more widgets, in particular our live Twitter feed, which we hope will make it easy for all users to get our information and content, and increase user feedback.
We know some people think this may be bad in a sense, but we honestly think it was overdue. We didn't want to be the last website on Earth without these! Many people have gotten to know us through Facebook and Twitter, who wouldn't know us otherwise. Social networks have already put us in closer contact with a greater number of old and new users than ever before. Abandonia's Twitter and Facebook are also great source of small but interesting tidbits about games or other topics of interest, that don't make it to the forum or would get lost in the chatbox. So discuss away! :) Please tell us what you think of all this. |
You say it was overdue but frankly I thought it was because this site had the common sense not to jump on this stupid craze which is social networks.
Instead of starting a new argument, just go read what already been said in the two other social network threads... You'll know what I think of it. |
Of all changes I like my straightened banner the most ;)

Whoooo now to get my name all over that twitter feed.

How nice, a front page filled with all kinds of social crap links and ads...
Let see, hit reload and have to wait ... 1 .....2 .....3 ......... *yawn* ....... *yawn again* ........ crap, almost 30 secs 'transferring data from blablabla whatever'. How nice, you really should add much more ads and crap, will certainly speed things up. <<-- *has a bad day* |
That's why I'm so glad I have AdBlock and NoScript, Dosraider. This way when I visit pages I don't have to download all their crap which end up counting for more than half my net traffic over time...
|
.... problem is when you're not@home, then suddenly you realize what load of crap there is here.

Maybe that's because there is too much space taken by irrelevant info ? With a bit of luck they will reduce that all dosgaming crap to ... let say a 15% of the front page? Or even better, a 2%? Leaves a 98% of the space for the things we really are interested in. Ah know what , nuke that whole 'dosgaming' stuff. It's getting in the way. LMAO. :D [Edit] Had the best idea ever! Oblige the peeps to install (yet) another big fat toolbar! There can't be enough toolbars in ya browser. |
