This is a game from the mid 80s I think and I haven't been able to play it since the old 486 (i think) computer packed up as the battery and floppy disk had both died. Today I tried to make it run on Dosbox as any other computer runs it waaaay too fast to even play it. The problem came when it said to play please press numlock. After pressing it on and off for about 2 minutes I gave up on it. Is there anyway to make it work? This is possibly one of the greatest tetris-esque games I've ever played and it would be a shame for it to be lost.
Cheers. |
Strange problem.
May be a compatibility problem with your USB keyboard. The game would not recognize the key since it's not the same than the old 486 computer keyboard. I remember with my old 486 that I had spilled something on my keyboard, and as a result several keys stopped functioning. I countered this problem by using ASCII codes. For example I still remember today that e was alt-130 or alt-135 :) If someone knew what is the ASCII code of num lock you could try it that way. Otherwise I have no solution for you, sorry. :( |
numlock in dosbox is tricky.
try mapping it using ctrl-f1 to a different key or press numlock and press then a different key |
Ok thanks guys I'll give that a go and let you know if it worked
