Jijis Adventure Series volume 1 - Jijis Fish Out Game
I'd like to request Jiji's Adventure Series to be on-site. These are some kind of child-safe mild adventure RPGs, in which you control a little black pus... ehm, kitten, who has to find (supposedly) her way home in a big forest, while collecting strawberries. Sweet! I haven't been able to find an official site yet, and this won't be likely, because the only one I was able to find is a fan-site, plus the game was written more than fifteen years ago I suppose. It is for Windows 3.1 (back then I even could run it under XP). I've got the second and third part, both them in English language (the original is Japanese). I'm not sure if they're shareware or not, but as soon as I can find my 'Odd game compilation' CD, I'll see it. So?
EDIT: Link to fansite |
Adventures of Jiji - Series 1 Jiji's Fish Out Game
Adventures of Jiji - Series 2 Jiji and the Mysterious Forest - The Girl with the Red Adventures of Jiji - Series 3 ? |
I think those ones are correct, except they should be written in a different format, like this:
Jiji's Adventure Series vol 1. - Jiji's Fish Out Game Jiji's Adventure Series vol 2. - Jiji and the Mysterious Forest Jiji's Adventure Series vol 3. |
The second game gives three variants:
Jiji's adventure series - vol.2 [line break] "Jiji and the mysterious forest" Chapter 1 in the JFOREST.DOC Jiji and the mysterious forest in the window title bar of the game Jiji's adventure series[period or comma] 2 [line break] the mysterious forest at the About/titlescreen of the game [edit] By the way, it is freeware. [/edit] [edit] Official site - don't expect too much (if you can). [/edit] [edit] If you want to download the games (2 & 3), go here. [/edit] [edit] The title of the third is Jiji's adventure series - vol.3 [line break] "Jiji and the mysterious forest" [line break] Chapter 2 - Jiji and the big tree. [/edit] |
Well, the first title variant looks the best. It's good to hear they're freeware, but won't it fall out of the bounds of the term 'abandoned' then? I'd like to see them on site, since we haven't got many games dedicated to Win 3.1 (I ain't a M$ enthusiast :) ), and besides, we haven't got much games lately either.

If its FREEWARE and not ABANDONED, then it belong to AR and not here...
|
I saw that the first two parts are listed as commercial, in the documentation of the third part. In the documentation of the second part it is only mentioned that it can be distributed freely (if left in its original state), though.
I worked out some naming convention when working with Apogee titles. Probably didn't note it down, though. |
I think it deserves the abandoned title because of it's age. And besides, we have newer, freeware titles on site (I know they were added under a different regime). If I'm correct they were meant to be commercial releases/shareware games, but the author didn't get enough attention, so he decided to make it available for the public, or something. All in all, I think we are safe to say they are Abandoned.
