Yes, so when I attempt to run some games in Dosbox, I get the message "no DPMI get csdpmi*b.zip" What the frick does that mean? And when run them in windows with the compatibility changed, it comes up to a blank black screen that never changes. Anyhelp? Please?

Can you first tell us a bit about your computer (speed, os, ...)
Also, what are you trying to do? Run zip file in DOSBox? ALl games have to be first unziped! Also it will help if you tell us which games you are trying to run. :) |
k, sorry. I have an HP something or other, pentium 4, 2.8 gig a hertz, with XP. Normally my stuff works with DosBox, but a few of these things aren't working. Mainly, the Quest for Glory games. Any help? And yes, I HAVE unzipped them, I'm not THAT stupid :bleh:
Edit: Ok, so I got it to stop saying that by downloading the stuff from the csdmpmi zip file, and I now works, except for that it now says that the resolution I have selected for the game is not supported, but no matter what I change the resolution to, the game does not work. Help? |
I did not think that you are stupid, just I did not know what's you knowledge of computers.
I just downloaded game, unziped it, checked install.exe to make sure my sound is configured right, and started game with hero.bat Game works fine. If you still having the problem, download game again, that might help. |
I got the QFG stuff to work, but pretty much everything that was made with AGS or what ever doesn't work

Which games you could not play? |
Fan-made adventures, the ones that use Adventure Game Studio, are all for Windows.
|
but when I try to run them with windows, the screen just stays black the entire time
|
Yes, but you said you changed the compatibility. Don't do that.
|
I changed the compatability in an attempt to make it work...it does not either way.
