-   -   There Has To Be A Better Way To Review Games... (http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showthread.php?t=2545)

I started reviewing games some time ago, and in order to get access to games that needed to be reviewed, I had to email Kosta for them. After every game I finished reviewing, I would send in the review and screenshots to Kosta via email, and request another game at the same time. The most recent game that I reviewed took me seven days to receive. I had the game review submitted in two days, and it still hasn't been updated to the site. Someone sent me a private message two days ago and complained to me that he wanted to review that game instead.

I understand that Kosta is busy quite often and can't spend all day receiving email and sending games. However, I found today that people are getting games to review faster than me by something known as "FTP." Now, I have very little knowledge of computers, and I have no idea how to run SmartFTP, even after perusing the manual.

Now, I don't write reviews for abandonia for the status and/or benefits that it brings. I decided to write reviews for abandonia to keep my writing ability in shape, and because abandonia needed people to write reviews for them. I find it frustrating, however, when I have to wait so long to get a game to review, while some other people pump out poorly written reviews (no names). There has to be a better way of reviewing.

You do not need smartftp or any other ftp program to acces our ftp. You can use internet explorer for that.

Internet Explorer is no good if I don't know how to use it for that. Some of us aren't tech nerds.

And you don't need to be. You get a link you simply copy past into IE and the game starts downloading.

That's what I have been doing, but I have to wait for the link to be sent to me first.

That is true and will remain true for everyone who does not have acces to the server.

It shouldn't have to be that way, though...

Windows / Total Commander's built-in FTP interface works wonders, try that one.

I think Kosta told you what are the server passwords?
