every time i go on WWF - Wrestlemania i see a screen with yellow writing about the game then it puts me back on the desktop.
Why is this happening!
I have VDMSound before u ask.

The yellow text is the intro, so you got that far. Have you tried Dosbox?

Well I'm not really sure what this could be...
the game works OK for me in WinXP - but without sound,
works without problems in VDMSound (YOU NEED TO: right click on the WWF.bat file),
and gave me some trouble running in DOSBox at first, but not any more.

Did you maybe try and configure the game?

What system are you using anyway?

it says it can't open common.snd now

OK - that sounds like a sound problem...
You can try and run setup - and choose no sound!
You'd have no sound, but it should work then (or try and change the soundcard settings until it works).
You can however try and modify DOSBox configuration.
Try this:
Change the
GUS=TRUE line to GUS=FALSE line.
The line makes the computer thing it has more then one soundcard or something. It caused problems with some other games (but I think this only works in DOSBox 0.63, older versions don't have this line).
