i did, do what picture says on the plugin page and viola it works

How does that thing work? I mean, not the actual search engine, but how it was added and all that?

you need to put this stuff into header of your website:

then firefox recognizes it

if you want to add an onclick event, you need to add javascript (for firefox that's it)
