Help recalling a game
 

So I recently went to an old arcade and spent some time tossing quarters into a machine to play an adventure game which I spent a bit of time on as a kid. Course, now I've forgotten the name.

You play a knight who must rescue the proverbial damsel in distress from a tower. Your knight wears a metal cap, carries a longsword, is dressed in red and has three lives. The game plays out like a cartoon, where you just give general directions. The first part sets you charging across a drawbridge which promptly breaks, leaving you dangling while a multi eyed purple tentacle creature attempts to drag you under. After you fend him off, you enter a room with three doors and progress upon whichever path.

The game is called Dragon's Lair but i don't know which of the three is it....

There are only two coin-op Dragon's Lair games. The original and DL2: Time Warp. You were playing the original.

Thanks for the help, I thought it was Dragon somethin. That'll teach me to listen to my gut feeling a bit more often I guess. And yes, I do believe it was the original.
