The comment about appropriate for all ages should be taken with a grain of salt (or two). Nothing too risque, fully clothed (sound effects only) ... don't worry admins.

A pity the "Bawdy" set has only bikini-clad women, especially given that first question you're asked to answer. Would've been fun if that caused those "beautiful voluptuous women" to change into gent "gorgeous hunks" or "long-haired Tibetan mountain goats"

Another thing I've discovered about this game is that sometimes when you put the maniac in checkmate he will declare a stalemate without offering you the chance to accept. I don't think it's a bug .. just another way he tries to get on your nerves.

Install/run problems

I know i'm almost a year after the original posts here.. but a video I saw on YouTube this evening reminded me of this game. I had it YEARS ago when I was in HighSchool. I was SHOCKED when I found it available for download.

Well, a quick download later I can't get anything to run.

I know that this was originally written for a DOS environment; but can I configure Windows to run this game? If so does anyone have a link/doc that would help?

Thanks all!

ChessManiac.com

Hello,

This is a very interesting post. I am the owner of ChessManiac.com. We play very serious online chess on our site. But we are indeed Chess Maniacs and the article about this game is very entertaining.
